The Headquarters of the Administrative Post of Papai, in the district of Namuno, province of Cabo Delgado, has already been connected to the National Electrical Grid since October 30, 2022. The extension of the electrical network to that Administrative Post (PA) consisted of the construction of 45 km of 33 kV Medium Voltage Line, from the village of Mecoripo, district of Namuno.
The project included the assembly of a total of 10 100 kVA distribution transformers, construction of 15 km of low voltage network, assembly of 200 public lighting lamps and connection of 1500 new consumers.


The project is financed by the Government of Mozambique, totaling 142 million meticais. With the electrification of Papai, 42 of the 56 Administrative Posts existing in the Province of Cabo Delgado are already electrified.


In the current year of 2022, a total of 10 PAs have already been connected, 7 of which through the National Electric Grid and 3 outside the Grid. For this purpose, a total of 224km of Medium Voltage Network, 90km of Low Voltage and 43 Transformer Stations were built.
